Yoshinori Watanabe
Yoshinori Watanabe ( Japanese 渡 辺 芳 則 , Watanabe Yoshinori ; * January 8, 1941 , † December 1, 2012 ) was the fifth gang leader ( Kumichō ) of the largest yakuza group Yamaguchi-gumi .
Watanabe became the new head of the Yamaguchi-gumi in 1989. Under his leadership, the organization expanded to 43 of the 47 Japanese prefectures . In 2005 Watanabe retired. He was succeeded by Ken'ichi Shinoda .
