Yoshio Tomita

Yoshio Tomita ( Japanese 富田 芳 雄 , Tomita Yoshio ; * around 1933 ) is a Japanese table tennis player . He is a four-time world champion.

In 1950 Tomita won the first single competition of the Japanese high school championship and from 1952 to 1954 the Japanese student championship three times in a row, where he was also successful in doubles in 1953 and 1954. In 1952 he also won the " All-Japanese Table Tennis Championship " ( zen-nihon takkyū senshuken taikai ) in singles. His first major international success was the team victory at the Asian Championships in 1953. From 1954 to 1956 he was nominated three times for World Championships. Every time he won the gold medal with the Japanese team. He posted another title win in 1956 in men's doubles with Ichirō Ogimura . In 1954 he reached the mixed final with Fujie Eguchi .
