Young Pirates of Europe (YPE) (German: Junge Piraten Europa ) is the Europe-wide association of eleven youth associations associated with the Pirate Party . Europe beyond division , Junge Piraten Luxemburg and Junge Pirat * inside Austria are member associations in German-speaking countries .

The association is a founding member and youth organization of the European Pirate Party . YPE was founded in August 2013 with headquarters in Uppsala . The organization was formally dissolved in August 2015 and re-established as ASBL in Luxembourg . YPE is managed by a board of up to seven members.

Structure / organs

YPE divided into two organs: Council (European Pirates Instituted Council, EPIC) and Executive Board (Board) .

The Council (European Pirates Instituted Council, EPIC) is the highest body of YPE. This meets annually between May 1st and September 30th. An extraordinary meeting (EPIC FAIL) can be requested by the board or a third of the members. EPIC elects the board and up to two auditors. In addition to approving the annual financial statements for the previous year and the budget for the coming year, a decision can also be made to discharge the board of directors and the auditors. The council also decides on the submitted proposals by a member or the board. The council's voters are composed of up to two delegates from the member organizations.

The board consists of the chairman, a treasurer, a general secretary and up to four other members. The members of the board of directors may not be older than 29 years at the beginning of their term of office.

The chairman represents the Young Pirates Europe in public and ensures regular meetings of the board.

The treasurer is responsible for the budget and accounts of the organization. To this end, it submits a report to the members every six months and checks the finances of the member associations.

The Secretary General represents the organization vis-à-vis its member organizations. To this end, he informs about the board's decisions and organizes EPIC meetings.
