Yountville is a city in California , United States . In 2010, 2,933 residents were registered there, compared to 2,916 in 2000. Almost a third of the residents live on the grounds of the Veterans Home of California .

Yountville is located at an elevation of 30 meters in Napa County . It is the center of the Yountville AVA wine region .

history

The name of the town comes from the pioneer George Calvert Yount , who is said to have established the first winery in the Napa Valley .

gastronomy

Yountville is also considered the center of gastronomy. The three stars in the Michelin Guide award winning restaurant The French Laundry by Thomas Keller is located in Yountville. Keller also owns another restaurant in town, Ad Hoc . Yountville is home to a number of other restaurants that have received stars in the Michelin Guide.
