The Napa County with the Napa Valley is a 1850 erected County ( County ) in the State of California . The county seat is in Napa .

The county is located north of the San Francisco Bay Area on San Pablo Bay along the Napa River and has 2042 square kilometers (of which 89 square kilometers are water).

The Napa Valley includes the cities of American Canyon , Angwin , Calistoga , Deer Park , St. Helena and Yountville .

On August 24, 2014, a magnitude 6 earthquake was measured north of the city of American Canyon . The hypocenter was, according to the US seismological USGS 10.8 kilometers under the earth. The tremors were felt in San Francisco as well.

As of the 2000 census , Napa County's population was 124,279. There were 45,402 households and 30,691 families. The population density was 64 inhabitants per square kilometer.

The racial the population was composed of 79.98% White, 1.32% African American, 0.84% ​​Native American, 2.97% Asian, 0.23% Pacific Islander, and 10.95% other races Groups; 3.71% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 23.67% of the population.
