The Yolo County is a county in the north of the State of California . The county seat is Woodland .

The county is located in northern central California and is bordered clockwise by Sacramento County , Solano County , Napa County , Lake County , Colusa County, and Sutter County .
history
The county was founded in 1850. Its original name was Yola County.
A total of 22 buildings and sites in the county are listed on the National Register of Historic Places .

After the census in 2000 one hundred and sixty-eight thousand six hundred and sixty people lived in Yolo County. There were 59,375 households and 37,465 families. The population density was 64 inhabitants per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 67.67% white, 2.03% African American, 1.16% Native American, 9.85% Asian, 0.30% Pacific islander and 13.76% from other races Groups; 5.23% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 25.91% of the population.
Of the 59,375 households, 33.60% had children and young people under the age of 18 living with them. 47.60% were married couples living together, 11.10% were single mothers. 36.90% were not families. 23.30% are single households and 7.30% have someone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.71 and the average family size was 3.25.
For the entire county, the population was composed of 25.20% of residents under the age of 18, 18.30% between 18 and 24 years of age, 28.20% between 25 and 44 years of age, and 18.90% between 45 and 64 years of age 9.40% were 65 years of age or over. The average age was 30 years. For every 100 females there were 95.60 males, and for every 100 females aged 18 and over there were 92.20 males.
The median income for a household in the 40,769 USD , and the median income for a family was 51,623 USD. Males had a median income of $ 38,022 versus $ 30,687 for females. The per capita income was $ 19,365. 18.40% percent of the population and 9.50% of families are below the poverty line. 16.00% of these were under 18 years of age and 7.40% were 65 years of age or older.
