Professional career

The robustly built and quite powerful standard boom made its successful debut as a professional at the end of February against Engin Karakaplan with a T.-K-.o.-victory in round 3.

In 2013 Kalenga defeated the previously unbeaten Ukrainian Iago Kiladze (match record 20-0-0) with a classic knockout in the 2nd round and suffered his first bankruptcy against the Latvian Arturs Kulikauskis in Latvia .

Against Poland's Mateusz Masternak (31-1-0), Kalenga competed in Poland the following year for the interim world championship of the WBA and beat him by a split judge's decision. Kalenga also defended this title that year against the previously undefeated Canadian Denton Daley (match record 12-0-0) with a technical knockout victory in round 12.

On April 10, 2015, Kalenga met Denis Lebedew (match record 26-2-0). Lebedev held the WBA world championship title, which was also at stake. Kalenga lost this fight clearly and unanimously on points, but still delivered a strong fight for the WBA champion.

In November of the same year Kalenga knocked out the Argentine Roberto Feliciano Bolonti in round 9 in a fight scheduled for 10 rounds
