Yu Zuxiang

Yu Zuxiang 於 祖 相 (* 1930 ) is a Chinese geologist and mineralogist . He is the discoverer of most of the new minerals in China and conducts research at the Geological Institute of the Chinese Academy of Geosciences .

Yu discovered eleven new minerals that are currently still independent, from Gupeiit (1984), Xifengit (1984), Shuangfengit双峰 矿 (1994), Chengdeit (1995), Gaotaiit高 台 矿 (1995), Mayingit马 营 矿 (1995), Malanite (1996), Changchengit (1997), Damiaoit (1997), Yixunit (1997) to Lisiguangit ( 李四光 矿 , Lisiguangkuang ), a total of about 1/5 of the newly discovered minerals in China (as of 2010).
