The Mandarin ducks Bach ( Chinese 鸳鸯溪 , Yuānyangxī) is a river in the district of Pingnan China's prefecture-level city Ningde .
Over a length of 14 km it flows through the only nature reserve in the People's Republic of China for mandarin ducks ( Chinese 鸳鸯 , Yuanyang, German mandarin duck). The nature reserve on the banks of the brook (Lage) covers an area of 78 km² and is visited by mandarin ducks in autumn for wintering.
Of the five major attractions on the Yuanyang, the stream-fed Lake Baishuiyang ( Chinese iste 洋 ) is the most important. The bottom of the lake consists of three flat rocks lying in the water, the largest of which covers an area of 40,000 m². Because of its scenic charm, this lake in particular is popular with many Chinese nature lovers.
