Wang Yue (accident victim)

Wang Yue ( Chinese  王悦 , Pinyin Wáng Yuè ), (* 2009 ; † October 21, 2011 in Foshan ) also known as Yue Yue or Yueyue , was a Chinese girl who was two years old on the afternoon of October 13, 2011 was run over by two vehicles on a narrow street in Foshan, Guangdong Province ; both drivers hit the road . The process was recorded by a surveillance camera.

Sequence of events

The two-year-old girl was run over by two trucks. At least 18 passers-by did not help the bleeding child, probably due to the spectator effect and the fear of being held responsible. A garbage collector helped the child, but she died in hospital on October 21, 2011. The incident sparked a nationwide discussion about the value system and morality in the People's Republic of China . It was reported around the world. The driver of the vehicle who rolled over the girl first was identified and arrested.
