Yukari Miyake ( Japanese 三 宅 由 佳莉 , Miyake Yukari ; born December 14, 1986 in Kurashiki , Okayama Prefecture ) is a member of the Japanese marine self-defense forces and singer.

Life

Miyake studied singing in the Arts Faculty of Nihon University . Towards the end of her studies she was hired by a company and it became clear that she would have to give up her singing ambitions. One of her professors suggested that Miyake join the Self-Defense Forces because she would have the chance to continue to be musically active there. In April 2009, she joined the Self-Defense Forces. Today she is a santō kaisō (English Petty Officer third class ) and belongs to the orchestra of the marine self- defense forces.

In July 2013, her song Inori ~ a prayer (Piano version) was uploaded to YouTube in support of the reconstruction after the Tōhoku earthquake . The song was featured on various news programs a little later and led to the release of their debut album in late August 2013 . Just a month later, her album entered the Oricon charts with a top position .
