Yukari Watanabe

Yukari Watanabe ( Japanese渡 辺 ゆ か り, Watanabe Yukari ; born January 28, 1981 in Wakkanai ) is a Japanese speed skater.

Yukari Watanabe is a sprint specialist who has achieved her greatest successes on the 500 meter course. She made her international debut at the World Cup in Seoul in December 2000, where she immediately achieved a good 13th place. In January 2001 she was in the top 10 for the first time in Helsinki (7th place). She achieved her best placement four years later at the World Cup in Calgary , where she only had to admit defeat to her compatriot Tomomi Okazaki . In the overall World Cup, she achieved ninth place in the 2002/03 season as the best placement.

2001 in Salt Lake City (6th) and 2003 in Berlin she competed on the 500-meter course at the World Championships, 2002 (9th) and 2006 (15th) at the Olympic Games. In 2006 she was Japanese runner-up, in 2003 third in the Japanese championship.
