Yumbi is a city in the western part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the province of Mai-Ndombe .

history

At the end of 2018, there was violence between different ethnic groups in and around Yumbi . Around 890 people were killed. Due to the violence on December 26, 2018, the presidential and parliamentary elections , scheduled for December 30, 2018, were postponed to March 2019 for the Yumbi area.
