In 2011, the manga was adapted as an anime television series of the same name , which was created by JCStaff and directed by Shigeyasu Yamauchi . The manga has also been published in German since 2015.

action

The high school student Yumeji Fujiwara ( 藤原 夢 路 , Fujiwara Yumeji ) has the ability to predict the nature of other people's dreams. However, it is not always entirely correct, but can definitely tell from the color scheme around you whether you are going to have a nightmare. He himself has been haunted by a recurring nightmare for a while, in which he is chased by cats within a shabby fantasy world . One day when he was walking home from school, he collided with Merry Nightmare ( メ リ ー ・ ナ イ ト メ ア ) falling from a tree and losing her hat. Shortly afterwards, Yumeji is back in this dream world. As it quickly turns out, the cats are the followers of John Doe ( ジ ョ ン ・ ド ゥ ), who reveals himself as a dream demon ( 夢魔 , muma ). He gives himself the title Chaser ( チ ェ イ サ ー , dt. "Pursuer") and states that he has a great interest in Yumeji in order to be able to enter the real world with the help of his body and attacks him. He is saved by Merry, who was looking for her hat. This, itself a dream demon but with the peculiarity of not having to have a human host in order to be able to live in reality, chases other dream demons so that they can take them back to their home, the dream world. Yumeji offers Merry his help to track down other people who are going to have nightmares, giving her the name Yumekui because like Baku she eliminates nightmares. Later, John Doe, who, when asked whether he is friend or foe, describes himself as an "ally of truth", tells him that a powerful dream demon named Pharos Hercules induces other dream demons to take possession of people with or against their will.
