Yunnan-Tibet Railway
The Yunnan-Tibet Railway ( Chinese 滇藏 铁路 , Pinyin Diān-Zàng tiělù , English Yunnan-Tibet Railway ) is a railway line under construction , the Kunming , the capital of the southwest Chinese province of Yunnan , with Lhasa , the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region to connect. Its total length is 1,594.4 km. The section between Dali and Lijiang was completed at the end of 2009. Construction work on the next section to Shangri-La began in 2014 and should be completed by 2020. The route continues via Bomê and Bayi .
