Yusuf Idris

Yusuf Idris ( Arabic يوسف إدريس, DMG Yūsuf Idrīs ; * May 19, 1927 ; † August 1, 1991 in London ) was an Egyptian writer . Idris is considered the master of the novella. He studied medicine and practiced for a few years before devoting himself entirely to literature. He wrote regularly for the Egyptian daily Al-Ahram .

After his death from heart failure, he left behind his wife Ragaa and two sons and a daughter.
