Yves Fromion

Yves Fromion (born September 15, 1941 in Vorly , Cher département ) is a French politician . He has been a member of the National Assembly since 1997 .

After graduating from school, Fromion attended the Saint-Cyr Military School from 1961 to 1963 . He then spent a year at the cavalry school in Saumur . After graduating there, he was a helicopter pilot in the Aviation légère de l'armée de terre until 1973 . When he became an employee of the French Ministry of Defense in 1973, he switched to the administration. In 1976 he returned to the active military and was a member of the 1st regiment de parachutistes d'infanterie de marine . In 1978 he returned to the administration and became sub-prefect in the Yonne department . Two years later he became chief adviser to the police prefect in Paris . He later worked for the Paris Mayor Jacques Chirac . In 1983 he was elected deputy mayor of Charny . In the 1986 regional elections, he was also elected to the Regional Council of the Center Region. In 1989 he became mayor of Aubigny-sur-Nère . In the 1997 parliamentary elections , he entered the national assembly for the Gaullists in the first constituency of the Cher department . He was re-elected in 2002, 2007 and 2012. From 2002 he was a member of the UMP .
