Züspa

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Züspa was a 1949 annual until 2018 Zurich fall fair . Züspa is the abbreviation for Zurich specialty exhibition, but the long form is no longer used.

history

The Züspa was originally carried out by the Zurich Special Exhibitions Cooperative , which was founded in 1945 and was the owner and operator of the “Züspa” exhibition halls in Zurich Oerlikon that were named after it until 1995 . The cooperative was converted into a stock corporation in 1983 and renamed Messe Zürich in 1995 . 2001, the Company merged with the sample fair Basel to fair Switzerland .

The fair first took place in several halls, which were replaced in 1998 by the new Zurich Exhibition Center .

Around 500 exhibitors presented themselves at the Züspa every year. It was the largest public exhibition in the canton of Zurich . In November 2018, it was hired together with Muba in Basel and Comptoir Suisse in Lausanne because it had been in deficit for years and consumer goods fairs would no longer meet the expectations of customers.
