Zacarías Ferreira

Zacarías Ferreira de la Cruz (born October 10, 1968 in Tamboril ) is a Dominican Bachata singer and composer.

Live and act

Ferreira grew up in a musical family. To study at the Conservatorio National , he went to Santo Domingo. There he performed with various bachata groups, including five years with Brugal & Compania . In 1997 he released his first solo album Me Libre , with which he won a Premio Casandra . His second album El Triste , which was released in 2000, was also awarded the Casandra. In 2001 he was invited as the first Bachata singer to the Festival del Presidente , where he appeared on stage with musicians such as Marc Anthony , Marco Antonio Solis and Los Hermanos Rosario .

In the same year he gave 77 concerts on a seven-week tour through the USA. In Campesino Records his third album appeared Adios . After the bachata gained popularity in the United States, his name soon appeared on the Billboard charts . The Bachata pioneer became known to a worldwide audience with the albums La Avispa (2006) and Dime Que Falto (2007).
