Zach is an impact crater in the heavily cratered southern sector of the Earth's moon . It lies between Lilius crater in the north and Pentland craters in the southeast and Curtius craters in the south. Due to the optical distortion, it looks elongated from the earth.

Zach's inner walls are clearly terraced, while parts of its outer walls are notched by smaller craters. In the north-east, south-west and in parts of the southern rim, neighboring craters join. Its northwestern edge is overlapped by a pair of craters. The crater floor is relatively flat and has only a few small impacts. A double peak rises slightly to the north from the center.
