Zack Whiting (born April 16, 1984 in Chico , California ) is a retired American basketball player .

He is 1.93 meters tall and weighs 93 kilograms and played in the position of point guard .

Whiting served at the University of Chaminade prior to the 2007-08 season . There he played with his team in the NCAA Division Two and had excellent statistics in his last year: 20.7 points per game, 10.7 assists per game and 7.1 rebounds per game with an average playing time of 35:03 minutes . After John Goldsberry had announced his departure from the Bayer Giants Leverkusen , the Giants attacked and signed Whiting for the 2007/08 season.

In the 2007/08 season Whiting scored an average of 7.2 points and 4.5 assists per game and was able to tap 3.3 rebounds. In the game against the LTi Gießen 46ers on January 15, 2008 he was able to achieve 17 points, which was his personal best of the season. In the second leg on April 23, 2008, he was even able to achieve a very rare triple double against the 46ers . In 32 minutes of play, the development player scored 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. In the 2008/09 season he played for the Artland Dragons from Quakenbrück, switched to the Giants Düsseldorf during the season , for which he also played the next season before ending his career as a player.
