Zagel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Zagel is a technical term from iron processing and describes a piece of fresh , still viscous iron that is processed in an ironworks .

Lupp , Zagel and Schirbel are names for iron at a specific point in time during processing: Zagel is extracted from the Lupp by pressing out the slag , from which Schirbel is in turn.

The original meaning of Zagel , common in Middle High German, was "tail".
