Zaharira Harifai
Zaharira Harifai , ( Hebrew זהרירה חריפאי ; * December 12, 1929 in Tel Aviv-Jaffa , British Mandate Palestine ; † January 2, 2013 in Petach Tikwa , Israel ) was an Israeli actress .
Life
Zaharira Harifai was the daughter of the journalist, writer and cultural worker Chaim Leib Harifai, who immigrated from Russia in 1922. She grew up in Tel Aviv and became a half-orphan at the age of four after her father died of pneumonia. She attended the agricultural school Mikveh Israel and then completed her military service with the Palmach and became a radio operator with the Golani Brigades . She then studied acting at Hadramati , near the Cameri Theater .
After her apprenticeship, she played at several theaters and from the early 1960s was also occasionally in films such as Sallah - or: Swap Daughter for Apartment , The Blue Milk Channel and Sleep Well, Sergeant! to see. For her portrayal of Malka in the 2007 published Jellyfish - Vom Meer she was nominated as best supporting actress for the Israeli film prize Ophir Award .
On January 2, 2013, Harifai died at the age of 83 from cancer in a hospital in Petach Tikwa. She was married to the writer Solomon Kan until her death. Their daughter Aya is active as a director and actress. Her older brother, the military judge Ben-Shahar Harifai, died in 2004.
