In anatomy, a wheel joint ( articulatio trochoidea ) is a joint shape in which the joint head is designed in the form of a roller and the joint socket is channel-shaped, with the concave joint socket moving around the pin, in contrast to the pivot joint. From the hinge joint , the pivot joint differs in that the joint roller for bone is as a wheel axle to the wheel. Only one axis can move in the wheel joint. Since this is in the direction of the bone, only rotational movements ( rotation ) around the longitudinal axis of the bone take place.

Wheel joints are formed at the distal connection between the ulna and the radius of the articulatio radioulnaris distalis and in the second head joint .
