Zauchdam was a medieval village and a field mark northeast of Brandenburg an der Havel .

geography

The desert village of Zauchdam is located southwest of the village of Päwesin on the associated field mark, on the banks of the Beetzsee and south of a nearby canal. Today, the Marienhof residential area belonging to Päwesin is located in the immediate vicinity and partially on the site of the desert . The desert field of the same name, which was last available from the village, was located in the southwest of the Päwesin field and in the northwest of the Roskow field .

history

The first written mention of the place is found in 1258 with the names Zuchedam and Zuchdam . A village was recorded both in the year it was first mentioned and in 1335. 1375 was in documents with the name Czuchdam listed that 20  hooves and 5  Kossäten , two of which are occupied, and no pitcher include the village. In 1409 it is reported that the village of Zudam , which had been desolate for a long time, fell to the margrave together with the village of Päwesin and was united with the new town of Brandenburg.
