Zbigniew Żbikowski (born March 6, 1952 in Skrwilno ) is a Polish journalist and writer .

biography

In 1976 he graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at the University of Opole . He already worked as a journalist during his studies. In 1976 he made his debut as a writer in the monthly Opole . 1976–1978 he worked as a physics teacher at general secondary schools in Otmuchów and Rypin . Since 1978 he worked as a journalist; First in the local press ( Włocławek , Bydgoszcz ), then at the national level (inter alia as a reporter for the weekly Radar , for the magazine Konfrontacje ) and Pogląd / opinion (monthly magazine, Berlin-West) and was most recently editor-in-chief of Journal (1990–1991) active. 1996–2002 followed various positions in the daily newspaper Życie (among other things he was editor in the foreign department and head of the department for reports). 1998–2000 he taught journalism at the Collegium Civitas ( Reportage Laboratory ) in Warsaw, then from 2002 to 2012 at the Institute for Journalism (IJ) at the University of Warsaw . 2008–2010 he was editor-in-chief of the IJ's Werkstatt Magazin.

He dealt mainly with reports, which he published in Radar , Polityka , Pogląd and Życie , among others .

He is a member of the Association of Polish Writers ( Stowarzyszenie Pisarzy Polskich ).

Prose works

In 2015 he was one of the Polish finalists of the "European Prize for Literature" with the novel Transprussia . In 2016 all of his books were featured in the New Wave series of Polish detective novels .
