Mining history
On May 13th of the year 1779 the expectation of a tunnel to be set up was submitted to the mining authority . The tunnel was set up on the Emscher, the tunnel mouth hole was east of the St. Martin colliery . Following this, the excavation of the tunnel began. The seam was measured on March 22nd, 1787, and an inspection was carried out on September 9th of the same year . A length field was awarded on April 12, 1788 . The colliery probably went into operation after the award ceremony. From August of 1796, the mine was proven in operation, the same year began, the bay Lisette abzuteufen . In 1797 the Lisette shaft started mining . The Himmelfahrt colliery was closed in 1798. On August 27, 1830 , the Himmelfahrt colliery consolidated with other collieries to form the United Bickefeld Civil Engineering Colliery .
