The Junge Hermann colliery was a hard coal mine in Bochum-Laer . The mine was also known as the Zeche Junge Hermann . Although the mine has a history of over 90 years, very little is reported about it. The colliery was located between today's B 226 and Alte Wittener Strasse at the height of Laerfeldstrasse. Today there is a parking lot of the former Opel plant in Bochum on the pit field of the colliery.
Mining history
A length field was awarded on February 5, 1791 . From 1796 to 1847 the mine was not in operation. On August 21, 1849, a square was awarded. That same year, the mine was in deadlines set. From 1856 the mine was back in operation. On May 16, 1882, a contract was signed that regulated the further mining of the coal fields by the Mansfeld colliery . After that, the Junge Hermann colliery is no longer mentioned.
