The Kämpgeswerk colliery is a former hard coal mine in Mülheim - Heißen . The mine was also known under the names Zeche Kempgeswerk and Zeche Kämpcheswerk .

Mining history

The mine was built in the 18th century and was already in operation at that time, but the exact date is not given in the documents. In 1818 an old mine was opened again. The property owner on whose property the old storage facility was located was authorized by the trades to do this. A shaft was sunk in order to get to the old mine . In 1819 there was a small amount of coal mining in the western field. In 1820 old coal pillars were dismantled. Minor mining was reported again from 1823, after which the mine was not mentioned in the documents for a long time. In 1841 the Kämpgeswerk colliery consolidated with other mines to form the United Rosen- und Blumendelle colliery .
