Cesário Melantonio Neto

Cesário Melantonio Neto (born October 31, 1949 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian diplomat .

career

Cesário Melantonio Neto, son of Margot Elfriende Melantonio and Oswaldo Melantonio, studied law at the University of Brasília and international economics at the École nationale d'administration in Strasbourg . At the Instituto Rio Branco (Brazilian Diplomatic Academy) he completed a master's degree and received his doctorate there.

On February 2, 1972, he joined the foreign service as third class legation secretary. On April 19, 1976, he was promoted to second class secretary and on November 20, 1980 to first class secretary.

He became Legation Councilor on December 17, 1986, Envoy on June 24, 1992, and Ambassador on December 13, 2000. In 1972 he was employed in the Protocol and Trade Department. In 1975 he was the third-class delegation secretary in Paris, where he headed the trade department from 1975 to 1976 and the technology department in 1977. From 1978 to 1980 he headed the Brazilian cultural department in Mexico City . From 1979 to 1980 he was assistant in the Western Europe department. From 1980 to 1981 he was an assistant in the human resources department. From 1982 to 1983 he headed the commercial department in Madrid as first class secretary .

In 1983 he was chargé d'affaires in Tehran . From 1984 to 1985 he was assistant to the protocol service. From 1985 to 1987 he was a liaison officer for the National Congress . In 1986 he was chargé d'affaires in Kinshasa . From 1987 to 1990 he derive in Rome the areas of public relations and international politics. From 1990 to 1992 he was master of ceremonies . From 1993 to 1996 he was Consul General in Frankfurt am Main . From 1997 to 2001 he was the office manager of the Foreign Minister. From 2001 to 2004 he was ambassador to Tehran. From 2004 to 2008 he was ambassador to Ankara and at the same time accredited to the government in Baku .

From 2008 to December 2011 he was ambassador to Cairo , co-accredited for Eritrea . Since the end of 2011 he has been Ambassador at Large for the Middle East .
