Brian Michael Fraser Neele (born May 21, 1941 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian diplomat .

Life

Brian Michael Fraser Neele is the son of Ethel Marie Neele and George Brian Fraser Neele. In 1963 he joined the foreign service. On January 3, 1964, he was appointed Secretary of the Third Class. On January 10, 1964, he became assistant in the raw materials department. In 1965 he was awarded the medal named after Lauro Severiano Müller (born November 8, 1863 in Itajai; † July 30, 1926 in Rio de Janeiro). From January 9, 1966 he was employed in the office of the Foreign Minister. On January 14, 1966 he became a knight in the Leopold Order . From January 15, 1966 he was employed in The Hague . On March 31, 1967, he was promoted to second class legation secretary. In 1968 he completed a postgraduate course on the subject of Desenvolvimento econômico (economic development) at the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague , compared the Cassa per il Mezzogiorno (Casmez) with the Superintendência do Desenvolvimento do Nordeste (SUDENE) in a study and produced study A. agricultura eo desenvolvimento nacional .

On January 21, 1984 he became consul general in Geneva with the government of Switzerland . On February 21, 1985 he was awarded the Rio Branco Order ( Ordem de Rio Branco ). From 1985 to 1988 he headed the delegation to the annual United Nations Conference on Trade and Development in Geneva.

From January 22, 1988 to 1990 he was ambassador to Lagos , Nigeria . In 1990 he received the Commander -in-Chief of the Rio Branco Order and the Ordem do Mérito Naval . On March 3, 1991, he chaired the 26th meeting of the Association of Tin Producing Countries (ATPC) in Abuja .

On January 23, 1994, he became ambassador to Beirut . On January 12, 1998, he was awarded a Grand Cross of the National Order of the Cedar . From January 14, 1998 he headed the Escritorio de Representacâo do MRE no Rio de Janeiro (ERERIO office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rio de Janeiro). On April 2, 1999, he was awarded the Medal for One Hundred Years of Foreign Ministry in Palacio Itamaraty. In February 2000 he made a study for a Centro de Convenções Palácio Itamaraty . On February 2, 2000 he was awarded the Medalha do Pacificador , ( Brazilian Armed Forces ). On February 4, 2000, he became a Grand Officer of the Ordem do Mérito Aeronáutico . On February 5, 2000 he was awarded the Medalha ao Mérito des Corpo de Bombeiros Militar do Estado do Rio de Janeiro . From May 24, 2000 to August 12, 2004 he was ambassador in Ankara and at the same time accredited to the Azerbaijani government in Baku . In 2002 he became a Grand Officer of the Ordem do Mérito Militar . From 2004 to 2007 he was Consul General with the Italian government in Rome .

From August 22, 2007 to May 2009 he was ambassador to Tegucigalpa ( Honduras ).

On May 29, 2008, Brian Michael Fraser Neele took part in a meeting between Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the governments of the countries of the Central American Integration System in San Salvador . On May 30, 2008, after landing at Tegucigalpa Airport , an Airbus A320-200 of TACA Flight 390 ran over the end of the runway onto a road, killing two people. Of the 114 people on board, five were killed, including Jeanne Chantal Neele, wife of Brian Michael Fraser Neele, and Harry Brautigam , and 65 were injured, including Brian Michael Fraser Neele with multiple fractures.

From May 14, 2009 to 2012, Fraser was ambassador to Saint John's (Antigua and Barbuda) .
