The Economic Commission for Africa of the United Nations (English: Economic Commission for Africa abbreviated UN / ECA or ECA ) was 1958 founded.

This is one of the five regional commissions headed by the United Nations . As the regional arm of the UN in Africa , based in Addis Ababa ( Ethiopia ), the Economic Commission for Africa has the task of promoting the economic and social development of its 53 member states as well as regional integration. The Economic Commission for Africa also promotes international support for Africa's development. Reports from the Economic Commission for Africa are sent to the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
