The Pafaba colliery is a former hard coal mine in Durchholz (North Rhine-Westphalia). The mine was a small mine and was also known as the Kehlberg colliery. Owners of this mine was first the paper mill Baienfurt ( Pa Pier Fa brik Ba ienfurt ), later the Mining Union GmbH took over the mine.

Mining history

The mine started operating in 1952. The Baienfurt paper mill used this small mine as a successor to the disused Muthe small mine. The mining was carried out in the mine field of the Elisabethenglück colliery . In 1955 there were two shafts , a delivery shaft and a weather shaft. The delivery shaft reached into the seam water bank, the weather shaft extended into the seam dirt bank. From August 11th to October 27th, 1957, the mine was out of order. On October 28 of the same year there was a change of ownership and the new owner was Kehlberg GmbH. On August 31, 1965, the mine was stopped. On September 30th of the same year the Pafaba colliery was closed.
