The Zeche Lilie in Wetter-Sandberg is a former coal mine . The mine has a mining history of over 270 years. During this time the mine was shut down several times for long periods. According to the Niemeyer map, the mine was located in a forest area between the street Im Blumenthal, the Vosshöveler Straße and the Linnenbecke.
history
Already in 1660 the suspicion was given . A length field was awarded on February 3, 1661 . This length field was a field that had fallen into the mountain-free field, the reason for this measure was the non-payment of the tithe. The mine was in operation in 1737. The mine was surveyed in 1739 . The coal in the mine was of poor quality and could only be used for burning lime. The mine was in operation from 1754 to 1756, during which time three miners were employed on the mine. According to the records of the weather office, Johann Diedrich Belert was working as a shift supervisor at the mine in 1755 , the trades were Varney and Boving.
There is evidence that the mine was in operation in 1761 and 1762. In 1766 the mine was measured again. In 1787 the mine was registered on the Niemeyer's map. There were a few scattered pings on the map , but no tunnels . From 1796 the mine was in operation at times. From 1804 the mine was out of order. In July 1825 the mine was put back into operation. The dismantling was carried out in the area of the Luther shaft. In the same year, a new shaft began to be sunk . In 1827 dismantling was only carried out temporarily. In October 1828 the mine was closed. In January 1933 the mine was put back into operation. The only production figures come from this year: 525 tons of hard coal were mined with one miner . In February 1934 the promotion was stopped again. On April 17th of the same year, the Lilie colliery was finally closed.
