The Rudolph colliery in Bochum is a former hard coal mine . The mine was also known as the Zeche Rudolf .

Mining history

In 1846 a borehole was created. On January 18, 1848, a square was awarded . The square had a size of one square kilometer. However, the mine did not have its own shaft . In 1870 a solution agreement was therefore signed with the United Constantin the Great . In this contract, the bill Constantine the Great was entitled to the coal reserves in the mining area of the coal mine Rudolph dismantle . A fee had to be paid for the coal mined. Extraction began in the same year . In 1896 a new contract was signed with the United Constantin the Great, which regulated the mining of coal above the 4th level (400 meter level) from Vereinigte Constantin the Great. In addition, a contract was signed with the United President colliery, which regulated the mining of coal below the 4th level of United Constantine the Great. In 1915 the Rudolph colliery was completely taken over by the United President colliery .

Promotion and workforce

The first production figures of the mine come from the year 1880, in that year 55,874 tons of hard coal were produced. In 1885 production rose to around 115,000 tons of hard coal. In 1890, 149,421 tons of hard coal were extracted. In 1895 the production was around 158,000 tons of hard coal. The maximum production of the mine was achieved in 1900, 165,473 tons of hard coal were produced. In 1905 the production fell to 72,989 tons of hard coal. In 1910, 119,298 tons of hard coal were mined. The last known production figures are from 1912, in that year 52,560 tons of hard coal were produced.
