The Schrutenberend colliery is a former hard coal mine in Essen-Burgaltendorf . The mine was also known as Zeche Schruten-Berend , Zeche Schrutenbernd and Zeche Schruten Bernd . The tunnels and shafts of the mine were in accordance with the Niemeyerschen map south parallel to today's Church Street.
Mining history
On December 12, 1724, a length field with the name Schrutenberend was awarded . At the same time, the field was also enfeoffed by the Berend and Schruten collieries. In 1737 the Schruten colliery was mining the field . Since the award was made on the same seam , the two awards Schruten and Berend were combined to form the Schrutenberend colliery. In 1739 the mine had little debit (coal sales). On April 3, 1754, a length field was awarded. In 1754 and 1755 the mine was closed in time limits . The reason for this measure was another lack of sales. In the years 1756 to 1762 the mine was in operation again. In the years 1785 and 1798 new speculations were made . In 1794 the mine was entered on the Niemeyersche map. On May 26 of 1802 consolidated the bill Schrutenberend with the colliery New Sackberg for colliery New Sackberg & Schrutenberend .
