Mining history

On January 21, 1732 which took place investiture of two length fields . The lending applied to all crossed seams that were located in the area between Eppendorf and Hellweg. The dismantling took place after the lending . The mining area was in the area of today's Höntroper Südpark. In 1737 the construction fields Steinbanck in West No. 1 and Steinbanck in East No. 2 were in operation. In 1739 the mine was unable to sell the coal it had mined (bad debit). In 1750 the mine was in operation with six miners . The surface transport of the mined coal could only take place on dry roads in summer. In the years 1754 to 1755 the mine was in time limits . The reason for this was a seam fault . From 1756 the mine was back in operation. In the years 1758 to 1763 the construction fields Steinbanck to the east and Steinbanck to the west were in operation. The mine was closed before 1775. In 1788 the mine was put back into operation. In the meantime a new tunnel had been excavated . In 1796 the area around shaft 8 was mined and 385 tons of hard coal were mined. A tunnel was driven to the north. Since no seam worthy of construction was found during the excavation , the Steinbank colliery was finally shut down in October 1806. In 1818 the western part of the field consolidated into the Eintracht colliery. In 1841 the remaining legal entities consolidated into the United Maria & Steinbank colliery .
