Zeeschelde

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zeeschelde is part of the Schelde River and, together with the Westerschelde, forms an estuary . The Zeeschelde runs from Ghent to the Dutch border, where it merges into the Westerschelde.

The Zeeschelde, in turn, is divided into upper ("boven") and lower ("beneden") Zeeschelde, but the boundary is described differently. For some, the Beneden-Zeeschelde begins at Schelle at the mouth of the Rupel , for others it does not begin until Antwerp .
