The Rupel (spoken: Rüpel ) is not the only river in Belgium “without a source”. It is the common end stretch of a wide range of tributaries and their tributaries. It is formed by the confluence of the Nete and Dijle rivers . The nete in turn is made up of the Grote Nete and the Kleine Nete . Among the tributaries of the river Dyle is the Demer , the inflow Gete from Grote Gete and Kleine Gete is formed.

The only 12 km long Rupel runs through the province of Antwerp in the Flemish part of Belgium . It is a right tributary of the Scheldt and flows into it opposite Rupelmonde . The tides of the North Sea work across the Scheldt as far as the Rupel. The river is navigable.
