Course of the Nete

The Nete is a river in Belgium . A distinction is made between the Große Nete and the Kleine Nete in the upper reaches. After the confluence of the two, one speaks of the sub-nete, or simply the nete. Sometimes the term Große Nete is also used. From this point of view, the Kleine Nete appears as a tributary.

The Kleine Nete has its headwaters between the localities Arendonk and Mol in the Kempen area . The Große Nete rises near Hechtel-Eksel . Large and small nets converge at Lier . The Unter-Nete finally unites with the Dijle at Rumst and thus becomes the Rupel , which finally flows into the Scheldt opposite Rupelmonde .
