The Zehner Polka is a polka by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 121). The work was performed for the first time on November 24, 1852 in the Zum Sperl dance hall .

Remarks

For reasons not explained in the sources, this polka is available in two versions of different lengths, which apparently premiered on the same day and in the same location. Both versions have the same opus number. It is possible that the first sketches of the polka were made during a visit by Strauss to Dresden in October 1852. The first performance (both versions) took place on the occasion of the Katharinenball in the dance hall Zum Sperl .

The playing time of the first version of the polka is 2 minutes and 39 seconds on the CD listed under individual records. The second version is longer and runs for almost five minutes. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
