Drawings of the patient OT is the second music album by the German music group Einstürzende Neubauten . It was released in 1983. The album was recorded from January to August 1983 in London , Berlin and Hamburg .
Background information
Musically, “Drawings of the Patient OT” ties in with the debut album by the Einstürzende Neubauten “ Kollaps ”, with new variants of sound generation being explored. The nine-second long piece “Fingers and Teeth” consists of grinding teeth and cracking fingers.
The initials OT refer to Oswald Tschirtner . Tschirtner suffered from a mental illness and painted during his hospital stays. This form of painting has meanwhile developed into an independent art form called Art brut .
In 2002 the album was re-released on CD in digipak format by the music label Potomak. The original design of the plate has been adopted. In addition to the regular pieces, there is also musical bonus material on the re-release.
