Kollaps is the first complete studio album by the German music group Einstürzende Neubauten . The album was released on October 5, 1981. Jet'M is a cover version of the well-known chanson Je t'aime… moi non plus by Serge Gainsbourg .

Publications

The LP was released in 1981 in two different pressings by the labels Rip Off Vertrieb and EfA. The first press at Rip Off Distribution contained a 16-page DIN A4 booklet in black and white with discography , texts and photos. The back of the album cover is a reference to the Pink Floyd album Ummagumma . In 2002 the album was re-released on Potomak in digipack format. The steel dub versions, which were previously only released on music cassette in 1982, were taken into account for the publication.

reception

Piero Scaruffi writes that the album is characterized by a claustrophobic atmosphere based on an eerie mixture of garish sound and lyrical pathos. The instrumentation of the album consists of Industrial - cadences , psychotic vocals and distorted guitars. Allmusic's Stewart Mason describes Kollaps as the most primitive and radical release of the band and gives the album a musical historical significance. Interestingly, even decades after its release, there are surprises when listening to the album.
