The journal for plant nutrition and soil science is a leading international specialist journal in the fields of plant nutrition and soil science .

Development history

The magazine was founded in 1922. Since then it has been published by Verlag Chemie , Berlin (today: Wiley-VCH , Weinheim ). Since 1926 it has been an organ of the German Soil Science Society . The title of the journal has been changed several times: first it appeared as "Zeitschrift für Pflanzenernahrung und Düngung", from 1936 as "Soil Science and Plant Nutrition", from 1946 as "Journal for Plant Nutrition, Fertilization and Soil Science", from 1967 as "Zeitschrift für Pflanzenernahrung und Soil Science "and from 1999 as" Journal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science ".

Content and structure

The journal publishes original scientific articles from the entire spectrum of plant nutrition and soil science. The thematic focal points include research results in the areas of nutritional physiology of plants , fertilization , quality of plant products , soil chemistry, soil physics, soil biology, soil mineralogy, soil genetics , soil protection and soil fertility . Numerous contributions are designed to be interdisciplinary and also contain topics on ecosystem research . The journal is open to reviews and book reviews.

The journal has been published jointly by the German Soil Science Society and the German Society for Plant Nutrition since 1975 . English-language contributions, first recorded in 1973, are standard today. The magazine, which appears annually with six issues, is also used by the two professional associations to inform their members about conferences and job advertisements.
