The German Society for Plant Nutrition e. V. (DGP) is a specialist society whose members are scientifically active in the field of plant nutrition.

Tasks and structure

The purpose and aim of this specialist society, founded in 1968, is to promote research and teaching on plant nutrition, primarily through lectures and publications . The main areas of work include the physiology of the yield of plants, interactions between plants and soil, and questions relating to nutrient balance and fertilization. There are close contacts to related disciplines ( soil science , plant cultivation , phytomedicine , plant physiology, etc.).

The professional society has 190 members (as of 2009). Gazette , the " Journal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science " (Journal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science), which since 1975 together with the Soil Science German Society is published. In addition to scientific articles, mostly in English in recent years, the bi-monthly journal also publishes internal reports from both professional societies.
