The Gazakh Cement Factory , English: Qazax Cement Factory or Qazax Cement Factory , is one of the largest cement manufacturers in Azerbaijan, the largest investment project in the region and produces around one million tons of cement per year.

The Gazakh cement plant is located in the far northwest of the country, near the limestone deposits at the foot of Avey Mountain and thus west of the village of Dash Salahli and around 10 km northwest of the city of Qazax . The border with Armenia is just under 4 km west and the border with the Republic of Georgia around 25 km northwest of the plant.

history

Construction of the plant began in March 2010 and the first cement was produced in April 2013. Clinker production followed in August 2014. In addition to various cement products, the plant also produces sulphate- resistant cement, among other things . In addition to the production of various cement products in the form of piles and bags, eight concrete plants and aggregate quarries are in operation in the regions of the republic. The concrete plants are calibrated according to the requirements of existing standards and provided with certificates. The company employs over 700 people, including the cement works and the concrete works and aggregate quarries operating in the regions. In addition to local experts, the plant employs experts from Germany in the areas of production, quality control and other areas.

In 2015, the cement plant was the first in Azerbaijan to export cement and clinker to the Republic of Georgia.
