R-Motorsport is a Swiss motorsport team based in the canton of St. Gallen .

history

R-Motorsport started in the Blancpain GT Series in 2018 and 2019 . While the team initially only started in the Blancpain Endurance Series with two Aston Martin Vantage V12 GT3s in 2018 , the involvement was expanded to include the Sprint Series in 2019. The best race result in the Endurance Series was achieved by Alex Lynn , Marvin Kirchhöfer and Jake Dennis at the 3 Hours of Barcelona 2019 . There the driver trio took second place in an Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 .

At the same time, R-Motorsport competed in the DTM as a works team for Aston Martin 2019 with four Aston Martin Vantage DTMs . The season was not very successful for drivers Paul di Resta , Jake Dennis, Daniel Juncadella and Ferdinand von Habsburg . At the end of the season , Daniel Juncadella's 14th place was the best result.

The team already left the DTM in 2020, partly because of the poor results of the previous year. This led to a dispute with HWA , who supplied the Vantage bodies for the DTM races.
