The Aston Martin Vantage is a sports car built by the British car manufacturer Aston Martin since 2017 .

Model history

The vehicle was officially shown publicly for the first time at the LA Auto Show 2017. The delivery of the successor to the Vantage of the same name began in May 2018. At a not yet known time, the 5.2-liter V12 gasoline engine known from the DB11 is to be used for the vehicle consequences. In 2019, the external shape was the model for a silhouette racing car used in the DTM . The special model Vantage AMR, limited to 200 units, was presented in May 2019. Photos of a prototype of the roadster variant were published in autumn 2019; that of the undisguised production vehicle followed in February 2020. The formal premiere of the roadster in front of an audience is to take place at the Geneva Motor Show 2020.

Vehicle characteristics

The Aston Martin Vantage is based on the new platform on which the DB11 is based. In the interior are Comand - infotainment systems from Mercedes-Benz installed. Externally, the Vantage takes on the shape of DB10 and DB11.

The Vantage V8 is powered by the four-liter V8 twin -turbo gasoline engine of the M 177 model contributed by AMG . As in the Mercedes-AMG GT S, this has a maximum output of 375 kW (510 hp) and accelerates the Coupé from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds. The top speed is 314 km / h. The engine power is directed to the rear wheels via an eight- speed automatic transmission installed according to the transaxle principle and supplied by ZF . The roadster with the same drive train also takes 3.7 s from 0 to 100 km / h. However, the top speed is reduced to 306 km / h. The soft top takes 6.7 s to open and 6.8 s to close.

The special model Vantage AMR has a seven-speed manual transmission that was developed by the Italian transmission manufacturer Dana Graziano . The gears on the gearshift lever are arranged according to the dog-leg shift pattern, i.e. the uneven gears are in the rear shift gate.
