The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is a sports car from the British car manufacturer Aston Martin . It replaces the Vanquish built between 2012 and 2018 and continues the type designation DB (the initials of David Brown ).
history
Aston Martin presented the sports car on June 26, 2018. The first models were delivered in December 2018.
The convertible version Volante was presented in April 2019. The first vehicles have been delivered since July 2019.
For the 100th anniversary of the Italian design studio Zagato , the Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato based on the DBS Superleggera was presented in autumn 2019 . It is only sold together with a replica of the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato . A total of 19 copies of each model are planned. Aston Martin puts the price for both vehicles at six million pounds sterling before taxes.
Vehicle characteristics
The chassis of the DBS Superleggera is a further development of the DB11 chassis and contains some parts made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic . The emblem on the bonnet is available in gold at an additional cost.
In the interior, which is Comand - infotainment system from Mercedes-Benz built, located in the C- , E- and S-class place. The sports car has a total of four seats.
Instead of the 5.9-liter V12 from the Vanquish , which was still under the direction of Ford , the DBS Superleggera, like the DB11, has a 5.2-liter V12 biturbo engine developed by Aston Martin . It has an output of 533 kW (725 hp) and a maximum torque of 900 Newton meters. The DBS Superleggera accelerates to 100 km / h in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 340 km / h.

Special models
DBS 59
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the double victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1959 , Aston Martin presented a special edition of the DBS Superleggera limited to 24 units on November 1, 2018, which is supposed to be visually reminiscent of the Aston Martin DBR1 . Technically, the special model remains unchanged from the production vehicle.
OHMSS Special Edition
Due to the 50th anniversary of the film James Bond 007 - On Her Majesty's Secret Service , Aston Martin presented the On Her Majesty's Secret Service (OHMSS) Special Edition , limited to 50 copies, on May 22, 2019 . The olive-green vehicle is said to be reminiscent of the Aston Martin DBS Vantage that James Bond drove in this film. Diamond-turned forged wheels and a different front grille are said to cite the 50-year-old film car from the outside. In the interior, Aston Martin sets many red-colored accents that serve as a reminiscence of the red-colored glove compartment of the movie car. This special model also has an unchanged drive concept compared to the series vehicle.

Concorde Edition
To mark the 50th anniversary of the supersonic - airliner Concorde Aston Martin presented on 26 November in 2019, limited to ten copies of special edition Concorde Edition . Among other things, this model is characterized by a paint job in the colors of British Airways and a blue interior in the style of the British airline. On the drive side, nothing has changed compared to the production model.
007 edition
The special model 007 Edition presented on August 17, 2020 is limited to 25 copies . It is intended to commemorate the start of the film James Bond 007: No Time to Die , which is expected to hit theaters in November 2020. The equipment is similar to that of a DBS Superleggera in the film. Technically, the special model remains unchanged.
