Vanquish

First photos of the production version of the Aston Martin Vanquish were published in June 2012. In May 2012, at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, a near-series concept vehicle was presented under the name Aston Martin Project AM 310. The production version was shown in a sneak preview at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in early July 2012 . In an introductory event on July 6, 2012, it was shown to 500 invited guests for the first time at the London Film Museum , Covent Garden. The body of the on the VH - platform constituting Vanquish consists largely of carbon fiber reinforced plastic and aluminum . It is available as a two-seater coupé and as a 2 + 2-seater convertible Volante . The interior of the vehicle is based on that of the One-77 . The Vanquish uses an improved version of the 5.9-liter V12 engine (engine code AM11) that debuted in the V12 Vanquish . It has a maximum output of 421 kW (573 hp) and accelerates both the Coupé and the Cabriolet from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.1 seconds.

The Vanquish was first redesigned in 2014. The Vanquish got an engine (engine code AM29) with a slightly higher maximum output of 424 kW (576 hp) and, among other things, a new 8-speed automatic transmission and a new drive shaft . Outwardly, the Vanquish remained unchanged. In 2016 the infotainment system was updated with AMi III .

Vanquish S.

On November 15, 2016, an upgraded version called the Vanquish S was presented at the LA Auto Show . It differs from the standard model on the outside with new front and rear spoilers . The 5.9-liter V12 engine (engine code AM27) now has a maximum output of 444 kW (603 hp) and accelerates both the Coupé and the Cabriolet from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds. In addition, the chassis and the 8-speed automatic transmission have been revised.

Vanquish Zagato

On May 20, 2016, the Vanquish Zagato Concept was presented to the public at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on Lake Como . It continues the 50-year collaboration between Aston Martin and the Italian design studio Zagato . The body is still made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic, but has been completely redesigned. On June 21, 2016, Aston Martin announced that it would produce the Vanquish Zagato in a small series of 99 copies, which should be delivered from the beginning of 2017.

Special models

The special models include the Vanquish Centenary Edition on the occasion of the brand's 100th anniversary in 2013, the Vanquish 60th Anniversary Limited Edition, built from 2014 on the occasion of the company's 60th year in Newport Pagnell (1955) , the special edition Vanquish 'One of Seven 'which was customized by Q by Aston Martin on behalf of the Storck Bicycle founder and at the end of production from the end of 2017, the Vanquish S Ultimate.

Sale of production tools

In the course of Aston Martin's initial public offering (IPO) in 2018, it became known that the manufacturer sold the vehicle's designs and production tools in the first half of 2018, but without naming the buyer. It was estimated at the time that approximately £ 20 million would be made in profit. The buyer was to pay off £ 5 million every six months after the sale. However, with no payments in 2019, the sale could not be carried out and in July 2019 it resulted in a loss of £ 19 million. It was not until August 2019 that the Chinese company Detroit Electric was named as the insolvent buyer, accidentally during a conversation between the management of Aston Martin and an analyst.
